These playing card designs were created with pen-and-ink and watercolor on paper. They are an attempt to create new suits, based on various philosophical premises. The Suit of Polarites replaces Hearts and contains symbols of positive and negative; for example yin/yang, sun/moon, and so on. The Suit of Elements replaces Spades and includes symbols for earth, air, water, and fire. The Suit of Cells replaces Diamonds and includes images of neurons and living cells undergoing cell division. The final Suit of Mandalas, which will replace Clubs, is in progress.
